In this task, we focused on completing the functions, UI and lastly the puzzle mechanic. Final Project:  Playable Game Stage and Mechanics After creating the basic mechanics, the maps are completed and the enemies are inserted. There are 3 enemies in total, each with different codes. Enemy 1 to which only roams, enemy 2 follows the player and miniboss having a high HP. Next, the HP bar of the player was added in, additionally a tutorial so that new players recognize which keys to use while playing the game. After all the sprites are added in, the sound effects are also placed, including the background music. Figure 1.1 Add...

Games Development - Task 3: Prototype

23/4/2025 - 29/5/2024 / Week 8 - Week 10 Cindy Clarissa Leslie / 0367677 Games Development / Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Creative Media Task 3: Prototype LECTURES LINK TO LECTURES INSTRUCTIONS   In this task, we were required to strart the prototype of the game, focusing on coding the basic mechanics and stage. In this stage, my groupmate decided to use Godot Engine to create the 2d platformer game after consulting with the lecturer. Task 3:   Prototype Figure 1.1 Adding animations and sprites into the engine Firstly, using the existing animation assets that has been created in the previous task, the image sequence was inserted into the engine. Since there was some error in exporting png in Photoshop, thankfully the engine had a sprite tool where the background can be erased manually. Each animations were then coded into different mechanics, starting from idle, walking, jumping and attack for the prototype. Figure 1.2 Environment and tiles After coding in the basic mechanics,...

6/7/2025 - 3/8/2025  / Week 10 - Week 15 Cindy Clarissa Leslie / 0367677 Experiential Design / Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Creative Media Final Project: Completed Experience LECTURES   LINK TO LECTURES INSTRUCTIONS   Final Project:  Completed Experience Process of creating UI Since I already did the AR functions of the app, I moved onto creating the UI elements. I first had the prototypes done and ready in Figma before exporting them and inserting them into Unity. Figure 1,1 Screens created in Figma I followed the colour scheme I have chosen, creating a consistent branding for the app. I created 2 screens, which is the main menu screen and the starting screen. The starting screen will be placed right before the players start the coral scene experience, which was mostly used to create a narrative and motivate them in knowing the importance of coral restoration. Furthermore, I created informational panels for the buttons in the main coral scene. Figure 1.2 Inserting U...

23/4/2025 - 29/5/2024 / Week 5 - Week 7 Cindy Clarissa Leslie / 0367677 Games Development / Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Creative Media Task 2: Art Asset Development LECTURES LINK TO LECTURES INSTRUCTIONS   In this task, the creation of the sprites are prioritized before starting the mechanics and coding the game. We made designs of each characters and also the environment, which will then be animated using frames instead of rigging. Task 2:   Art Asset Development Ideas and Reference Before I started sketching my designs, I created a moodboard and tutorial reference as a way to provide inspiration. I've compiled them where they have a specific concept, pixelated and robotic. Furthermore, I saved tutorials that could assist me in colouring. Figure 1.1 Moodboard created for character and environment design It was decided that we should keep the designs in the character simple and not too overcomplicated for efficiency. Sketches Next, I started sketching ideas and concept physic...
