Project 2A: Production Shoot
Planning
In this project, we were divided into groups and each of us were assigned a role in the production of remaking 'Everything Everywhere All At Once". For the filming part, I was given the role of camera assistant.
Figure 1.1 Shooting schedule.
Before starting, I created a schedule that the group can follow, where the order of filming the scenes have been decided early on to make the process as effective as possible.

As the camera assistant, my job was to position the camera so that I can accurately depict and follow the shots in the movie itself. The footages were then compiled in a folder and provided to the whole group to edit individually.
For the video, we were required to not only compile them but also make it as interesting as possible, in this case I wanted to create a trailer for the movie. The edit also required specific colour grading in different shots as listed below:
- Teal & Orange,
- Bluish (cold),
- Greenish (cold),
- Brownish (warm),
- Desaturation, 50%-70%,
- B & W, High Contrast.
Before starting my edit, I compiled sound effects first before putting them into Premiere Pro.
Figure 2.1 Arranging clips in premiere pro
Before starting the editing, I arranged the clips to how I want them to be together with the texts. I then added necessary stabilizers to clips that are rather shaky while synchronizing both audios and video.

Next I simply added the sound effects I downloaded appropriately to the compilation.

I then started colour grading the scenes by using the sliders found on the panel on the left of the workspace while I added transitions and effects. This concludes the editing and proceed to export it into mp4.

Storyboarding
Before starting the filming, I had to create a proposal and provide brief ideas/image of what concept I am going for with my video. With the storyboard created, I could film the shots and depict the idea accurately.

I created a moodboard to help set the vibe especially the aesthetics, this helps me with colour grading and creating an ambience for the video.

REFLECTION
This project mostly focused on video editing overall, this project involved a lot of creative directions where I had to edit the EEAAO shooting video similar to the style of a trailer meanwhile I had to come up with a concept engaging enough as a short video for Tiktok. Project 2B however, felt a lot more exciting to create as the task itself allowed absolutely free creative direction, where I got to talk about a common problem that not only me but other students have that they can relate to. I found that shooting scenes for a film is very much time consuming, as a camera assistant there were some angles and shots that were rather complicated to do and had to do a lot of takes in order to get as close with the storyboard as possible. The filming process was still really fun and I was able to collaborate with my groupmates well to make the process as efficient as possible. I found that these projects were able to improve my skills in not only video editing, but also the production itself in relation to the writing.
