REFLECTION

Experience

During my whole experience in this module, I have learned a lot ranging from video production, editing, creative writing etc. that gave me a glimpse of how it is like to be able to produce a movie in a professional manner especially in project 2. Though I was fairly new with video and sound production, I was able to adapt to using Premiere Pro rather fast and I was comfortable in using After Effects which made the whole video editing process fast, even if I was unfamiliar with the production process and such the lectures were able to help me especially with the terms. Overall, there were more positive experiences as I rather found these projects more exciting since I had creative freedom on them.

Observations

What I have observed is how consuming it is to create a video that is in high quality, both visually and its concepts. Not only does it consume time but also money for professional setups such as camera and location, together combined with the amount of planning it takes before the start of the actual production process. This had made me rather appreciate movies and any media that involves moving pictures now that I've experienced the whole process of making it too.

Findings

I found that producing high-quality video content involves a significant amount of collaboration and communication within a team. There are some projects and tasks that required us to be in groups to complete, where every member's role was important and complement each other, ranging from producer, sound engineers, cameramen etc. Not only have I learned video production skills, but I was also able to improve my collaborative skills with my new classmates.
